Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a type of Therapeutic Massage that releases restrictions in Myofascial Tissue. Myofascial Tissue is the connective tissue throughout our entire body. It’s what’s in between each and every cell (on a cellular level) of our bodies and on a larger scale it’s what holds our organs in place and surrounds our muscles and ligaments giving us great strength, flexibility and range of motion. Normal, healthy Myofascial Tissue is very strong, slick and supple and can withstand pressures of over 2,000lbs/square inch! Even bone can’t withstand those pressures! But due to trauma, illness, injury, surgery, stress, poor postural habits, repetitive motion and more, Myofascial tissue can be constricted resulting in Myofascial scarring. This creates sever restrictions within the body and can cause us to compensate for our lack of flexibility. A Therapist trained in Myofascial Release can correct the restriction in the issue to allow Your body to return to a more natural movement pattern.
MyoFascial Therapy
Myofascial therapy is a hands-on technique that targets the fascia, a connective tissue surrounding muscles. Practitioners use sustained pressure to release tension and promote flexibility in the fascia. It aims to alleviate pain, improve range of motion, and enhance overall tissue function. Myofascial therapy is often used to address musculoskeletal issues and promote healing after injuries. The approach recognizes the interconnectedness of the body’s fascial network and its impact on movement and well-being.
Cranio Sacral Therapy (CST)
Cranio Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle-hands on treatment that uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity. The Therapist uses gentle pressure techniques to assess the existence of possible disruptions and/or restriction in your fascial system. Light touch and fascial release may help your muscles and organs naturally relieve stress which improves function. Other patients often report feeling a sense of deep relaxation. The focus of CST is a gentle placement of hands to assist release of the bodies connective tissue or fascia. Fascia is a covering found throughout the body including organs, glands, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, brain and spinal cord forming a body wide connective network. CST is based on the idea that the body is interrelated at all levels. CST is thought to improve efficiency of biological processes through boosting inherent self-regulation, self correction and self healing. Their therapy can be used successfully with children and adults.
Reiki Energy Work
Reiki is a natural healing technique from Japan that uses “life force energy” by administering with “laying on hands”. It is used to reduce stress, increase relaxation and promote healing and well-being. “Life force energy” is the energy that flows through us and along our meridians. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
This technique proves beneficial in managing post-surgical patients experiencing swelling, which hinders nutrient flow to affected areas. Manual lymphatic drainage expedites the healing process in such cases.
Moreover, MLD enhances the movement of lymph and interstitial fluid in individuals dealing with chronic venous insufficiency, like those with congestive heart failure and other enduring health conditions.
Lymphodema Therapy
Lymphedema therapy is a specialized treatment for the condition characterized by the accumulation of lymphatic fluid, leading to swelling in specific body parts. It typically involves manual lymphatic drainage, a gentle massage technique, to stimulate lymphatic flow. Compression therapy using garments or wraps is often employed to reduce swelling, and therapeutic exercises may be prescribed to enhance muscle function. Education on proper skin care and lifestyle modifications is integral to the overall management of lymphedema. A multidisciplinary approach, involving various healthcare professionals, is commonly employed to tailor the therapy to individual needs.
Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (AOBT)
Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (AOBT) or Ashi as it’s affectionately called is a deep, relaxing type of bodywork that uses the therapist’s feet to deliver the strokes. Broken down, Ashi means “foot” and Atsu means ‘pressure” so Ashiatsu literally means “foot-pressure”. This deep tissue massage offered by the feet is known as “The Deepest, Most Luxurious Massage on the Planet!” Bars are installed on the ceiling of the treatment room for balance and support of the massage therapist. The therapist that is certified in AOBT has completed a course that was developed by the founder, Ruthie Piper Hardee. It is also recognized by the Association of Bodyworks and Massage Professionals (ABMP), the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and the American Medical Association (AMA). This amazing, deep tissue and extremely therapeutic massage has been proven to elongate the spine creating more space between the intervertebral discs thus taking pressure off the nerves and offering relief.
